St. Joe's (West Winfield), the showing of "Fishers of Men" was well-received by everyone who viewed it, young and old alike. Even though it is about the priesthood, it has opened the doors to the discussion of all vocations with our students, teachers, parish council members, parishioners and even our pastor and our deacon. It has been a reminder to us that all good holy vocations are dependent on each other for survival. We will not have good holy priests if we do not have good holy marriages and good holy religious men and women offering their prayers and their very lives to Christ and His Church.
We are also having fun with our "adopt-a-seminarian" idea in our CCD classes. Some classes have written to their seminarians and have received letters of thanks already. All classes are praying for these special young men. Our entire church is praying for them as well, along with sending up prayers for good holy vocations in general.
Great ideas! The Albany City Deanery Vocation Committee met on Tuesday night and is coming up with a wonderful hosting of the Vocations Stations of the Cross during Lent and possibly carried into each Friday thereafter.
Our Saratoga meeting went well too! Plans for something different and unique in September is underway. Stay tuned! :)
